SHORT VERSION
=============
At Morehead City and Topsail Island
we did: Sun, Salt, Sand, Seafood and Ships (tall ones). And got in
about 100 miles of cycling (two flat tires - I think my rear tire is
shot).
LONG VERSION
============
We spent the week
of the 4th at the beach, sort of split our time between Morehead
City and Topsail Island with kids, siblings, their families and
friends. Our group was about 40 people distributed among five
cottages. Each day we would gather on the beach in front of the
cottage that Robert and I were in for swimming and sunning. And
each evening all 40 or so would show up at our cottage for supper.
Each of the siblings would choose a night to fix supper for the
masses. Robert and I choose Thursday night and we fed everyone "Red
Beans and Rice" which Evelyn had fixed a few days before and brought
down on Tuesday the 4th.
Lots of sun, salt,
sand, and sea food. I got to watch Le Tour de France each day on
the television and the World Cup and even some Wimbledon Tennis
matches. The tour cranked up the Friday before the 4th and ended
today with Floyd as the winner!
I took my laptop
(Dell Precision M70 and it was the only laptop that could connect
into a weak unprotected wireless router that some nearby cottage
had). This meant that everyone who was undergoing 'Internet
Withdrawal' symptoms could come over and get their 'fix' in.
Additionally I
'ripped-off' Baxter's pictures (they are always so much better than
mine). Below is a view of the pictures (Baxter's first then
mine below his).
Enjoy,
Zach
